How do you find motivation in the absence of god?

I'm for all practical purposes an atheist, in that I don't subscribe to religious doctrine and don't defer the events or problems in my life to any supernatural force because I see no evidence for such a thing. So I'm asking any fellow atheists out there, what motivates you? If it's all just a big sham, what can possibly "pump you up"?

I look at other atheists like Richard Dawkins or Henry Rollins, and they behave as if their lives amount to something. They seem to pretend to have stock in the future of mankind when they know in their hearts existence will be washed away when they die. Why do anything for the "greater good", especially if you don't intend to procreate, like Rollins. Why strive for any higher ideals in your chosen specialty? Doesn't accomplishment as an atheist require self-delusion?

Unfortunately, Henry Rollins has been a two dimensional cut out of shock factor for the last couple of years. In a sense he sold out his being “out there” when he came in to work at IFC. He makes dysfunctional commercial.

My choice, Henry Rollins, While yes he is a "Hardcore/Punk Rock" performer TV Personality Actor and stand-up personality. He is Extremely intelligent articulate, an excellent example of healthy living, works out religiously and lives a clean lifestyle even in that scene (no drugs, alcohol and smoking).

He speaks of a very positive message, and makes us examine ourselves and our hypocrisy. If you have not heard his spoken word, you really should, you will find that he could possibly run circles around our current contenders in any debate.
